Before you claim your letter
How often do letters arrive?
Two a month, for the six months of the Début arc.
How long is the story?
The Début arc runs six months — roughly a dozen letters. You'll always know where you are: each letter is marked, e.g. "8 of 12." A larger twelve-month arc begins January 2027.
What comes in each parcel?
Five things: the artist's kept draft (her unsent letter, on aged rag paper), a diary entry in a second hand, frame-worthy art prints of the painting as it evolves, period clippings and exhibition tickets recreated for 1867 London, and a recording of the letter and diary entry read aloud on the companion podcast. A collector's box arrives with the final letter to hold the whole season.
Do I need to solve anything?
No — there's no game to play and nothing to figure out. The story is in the letters — open them, read them, follow along. The companion podcast walks beside you.
What's the podcast?
Piqued Postscript — three episodes a month: the letters read aloud, and once a month the creators open the world between them. The first letter is free to hear.
Why only fifty subscribers?
Because that's how many we can make by hand, well. When the fifty letters are claimed, a waitlist opens and we invite people in the order they joined.
What happens at the end of the arc?
The story resolves and you keep everything. If you've been with us for the whole arc, you'll be invited to add the end-of-arc bonus package to your final mailing — made only for the fifty. And you claim your letter first when the January arc opens.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes — check "This is a gift" at checkout on either plan. Add a note and the recipient's address. They receive the same letters you would; only the delivery address changes.
Where do you ship, and what does it cost?
We ship within the US for the Début (international comes later). Shipping is calculated at checkout once you enter your address — no surprise fees buried at the end.
Can I read the letters easily?
Yes — the site meets accessibility standards (scalable text, strong contrast, described images), and the letters are written and printed to be read, not squinted at.
How do I cancel?
One click, anytime, from your account. No phone call, no retention maze. We email you before any renewal so you're never surprised.
